PHILIPPINES: New People's Army (NPA) Recognizes Same Sex Marriage

On Feb. 4, the New People's Army (NPA) conducted the first same-sex marriage in the Philippines. Two guerrilla fighters who have participated in the armed struggle against the pro-U.S. regime in Manila, Ka Andres and Ka Jose, exchanged their vows before their comrades, friends and local villagers.

The ceremony was full of symbolic imagery of the two comrades' commitment to each other as members of a couple, as well as their commitment to the revolutionary struggle. The two men held each other's hand throughout the wedding, and a bullet in the other as a representation of their commitment to the armed struggle.

During the ceremony, Ka Andres and Ka Jose were draped in a sequined flag of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), which was secured by a long, beaded rope around the couple and their sponsors. The rope and flag, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, symbolized that their marriage would be made stronger with the help of both their comrades and the masses.

A choir of the New People's Army serena ded the couple with revolutionary love songs.

In response to the marriage, representatives of the Philippine government have condemned the NPA for lacking religion. A spokesperson for the Air Force generals told reporters, "This proves that they have no god and their morality is very much in question."

Although proposals in support of same-sex marriage have been introduced several times to the Philippine legislature, none have passed so far.

The Progressive Organization of Gays (ProGay) responded to the NPA marriage with a challenge to the administration of President Gloria Macagapal Arroyo to enact legislation that would formalize equal rights for lesbian and gay Filipinos.

Michael Falguera, secretary general of Pro Gay, said, "Instead of branding homosexual marriages as immoral, the government should be taking steps to follow the example of the NPA by legalizing domestic partnerships and honoring gay families."

Speaking on gays in the NPA, newlywed Ka Andres said, "Gay cadres adhere to the strong party discipline. They enhance the prestige of gays in the movement. This has gained positive results through the years. Comrades (male and female) and even the masses have learned to respect and recognize gays and their contribution to the revolution."

Ka Jose said, "What we have to do now--with the help of the party--is to work on our marriage and to be strong while serving the people."

OPINION: SAME SEX MARRIAGE IN PHILIPPINES, NOT LEGAL

The Philippines is a country which is rich in culture and tradition. It is bounded with beautiful places and hospitable people. PH is also a country with thousands of homosexuals. I believe that its democratic type of government has a huge impact on the rapid increase of its population.

Homosexuals, whether obvious or not, are very prevalent in every region of the Philippines. They have shared a great percentage to the totality of the country’s population.

Despite its rampancy, same sex marriage in the country is a big problem. Many gay advocates have worked on this issue. But, there is no acceptance of such laws up till now. Same sex marriage is one of the biggest challenges to all LGBTIQ members. No matter how strong the force in pursuing it to be legalized, there are still reverse pressures that pull their efforts down.

Among the reasons such a bill cannot be legalized are the following:

1. Religion. Philippines is Asia’s largest Christian nation. It doesn't allow any marriage deviations to what is taught in churches.

2. Psychological Effect. Same sex marriage is thought to confuse the little minds of children. It is believed that children cannot understand how two men or women can bear a child.

3. Health Issues. It is believed that most HIV/AIDS victims are gay. In fact, Philippines is one of the countries with the highest rates of HIV/AIDS victims. The government would not allow such marriages because of their fear of worsening the number of cases.

Same sex marriage in the Philippines is indeed a battle for LGBTIQ individuals. They are partly accepted by society, but some of their legal rights are still far from reach.

States for Same-Sex Marriage

Same-sex marriage is currently the biggest issue facing the LGBTQ community.  The controversy has been debated recently over the years; however, several countries have opted out of the discussion.  In the United States of America, some states have legalized same-sex marriage.  These places are considered to be the best setting for gay partners who want to get hitched.

The following states have legalized same-sex marriage:

By Court Decision
California, Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New Mexico.

By State Legislature
Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

By Popular Vote
Maine, Maryland and Washington.

To date, several European Union countries, and also New Zealand, have legalized marriage equality too. LGBTQ activist organizations and their supporters around the world have considered the redefinition of marriage in these countries as an example for change in the marriage laws of their respective countries. However, even though there are pieces of evidence that support such request, most of the governments do not give favorable verdict to this case.

Additional: Pending for Approval

Utah, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Virginia and Texas.

Does Size Really Matter?

Penis comes in different sizes genetically. This means that a man’s penis size is relative to his father’s size. If two men have the same height and weight, it doesn't necessarily signify that they have similar sizes. Penis, like human, is unique (you won’t be able to know it unless you see or try).

Penis size, manhood size, cock size, dick size or whatever you call it, is one of the issues that is talked about frequently by women and homosexuals in terms of their sexual desires. Mostly, they prefer men with bigger sizes compared to those who have smaller ones. Many of them believe that the bigger and the longer the cock is the better. The satisfaction it brings during sexual penetration is different from those who have small or medium dicks.

On the other side, some women and gays do not agree to what is generally liked. For them, the skills in doing the sexual intercourse matter most. A deep penetration can be sometimes painful; thus, a man must be wise enough to know if his partner feels uncomfortable already. According to some women, the most satisfying spot to theirs is not located inside. This means that it doesn't require a large cock to get in to satisfy them.

Large penises can be very painful to homosexuals too especially if anal sex is performed. A human anus has no capability to secrete fluids like what vagina does; making the anus very hard to open once the penis is inserted.

To sum it up, every woman and gay has different need when it comes to man’s penis size since sexual gratification varies from people to people. Generally, they prefer men with big cocks but there are still some who are satisfied with small or medium sizes.

DISCREET GAYS

Have you heard about discreet homosexuals? How about straight-acting gays?

Wherever part of this world, gays are really rampant. They can be found in any field of work. Gays are very noticeable in fashion, education, health care and arts sectors. They can be also present even in a manly field of work. These people are called discrete gays. They act like straight men but deep inside their body, they are bounded with femininity. Most of these people are common in armed forces, politics and religious divisions.

According to some, being gay is not a choice because if it is so, when did those straight men decided to be straight? Gays are born to be gays. It is just that they are classified into different kinds.

Gays are very obvious in wearing make-ups and dressing like a typical woman way back years ago. In just a single glance, you would be able to identify their true genders. In this new modern society, some gays can be sometimes deceiving. They may look and act like typical straight men.

Some of them go to the gym to have toned muscles and some are working in a field that is filled mostly with straight men. Discrete gays are those homosexuals that can be hardly identified if they are straight or not. Examples to this kind are those gays found in armed forces. They can be hardly recognized because of the nature of their work that requires them to be firm in posture at all times. They are the gays who are afraid to show off their true identity because of their occupations. Imagine if cops are obviously gays, do you think criminals would still get scared to them? Isn't it awkward that a policeman knows how to do parlor stuff like curling of hair? These are the reasons why gays are classified. Gays act the way they do not only because it’s their choice but because of the jobs they have too.

Gays are indeed in everywhere, whether you like them or not, they will always be part of the society. If women are competing with other women way back years ago, women are now competing with gays too. It is very common today that same sex relationships between two men occurs, either discrete or not. Even gender inequality is present; the populace of gays around the world is still continuously increasing.

HOOK-UP STORY

Last 28th of December 2013, somebody added me on Facebook named Ben. I didn’t know who he was but, his face on his profile picture is quite familiar to me, maybe I saw him  somewhere in the city. Because I wanted to be acquainted with the members of my friends list, I checked his timeline information, photos and friends. I really didn’t know where did he got my FB account, but it seemed we don’t have connections. Since he was online at that time, I immediately messaged him if we really knew each other. I asked him some personal information and it took me few minutes for waiting to his respond. At that moment, I was thinking that the account that I just accepted is a hoax one.

Not later than 30 minutes, my FB chat box beeped. “As I checked your profile, I think I added a wrong person. Sorry for this." he said. Because I felt strange with his very short profile info and he definitely looked attractive on his public photos, I asked him more questions and made him comfortable talking with me. As our conversation got longer and longer, I believed he wouldn't get mad if I raised very personal question, so I asked him if he was gay.

I really thought he got offended when I questioned him that way because he was not able to reply immediately. But, after a few moments he said "Yes!" Because he’s gay, good-looking and very mannered in answering my questions, I kept on chatting him. I say, I was interested to him. I bet he was neither bored nor irritated with me because he too laughed when I joke. I felt that there was something special connection between us.

To forward the story, I actually asked him more sensitive questions. I knew he might get off with my questions but, I am very glad he didn’t. So, we talked about our sex lives, including our experiences and desires.  It was really a fast track that we got to that point, as if we were in hurry because 2013 will end so soon (Lol). But yes, we were comfortable talking about it. Because he got humor too, I invited him for meet ups the next day. He was really hesitant to say yes at first but, he still agreed to meet me. Right at that moment, we exchanged phone numbers for easy messaging. We set the place and time like what others usually do. Because he wanted to make it private, he chose to meet me in a private place. At that time, I could hardly think any private place aside from a motel (by the way, our planned time was 3 p.m.). When I suggested the D’Morvie Inn along Velez St., he did not agree on it instead, he recommended another place – a KTV Room. He actually did not like to meet me in a motel for a reason that there were people might see him when he gets in. He was afraid that people might make issues out of it.

To make it further, On December 27, 2013, around 3p.m., we met at Jollibee in the city and transferred right away to a closer KTV Bar. When we were in and everything was set, the videoke and a bucket of beer, we turned off the lights and talked while watching music videos. Actually, that place was intended for us to sing, since we wanted to chat, we just keyed in plenty of music videos and played them.

When both of us were heated with the beer we drunk, we had agreed to try something different. Because we were both tipsy at that time, he invited me to give him a blow, and since I wanted it too, I did not refuse his offer. Since then, we kissed torridly while I am gently rubbing his tool. I honestly love his cock though; it’s one of the huge cocks I’ve tried (around 7 inches, not an average size of an Asian). Given that we were time bounded at that moment, actions were getting faster and faster. I unzipped him so fast and then sucked his huge tool. I knew he loved the way I did it because he was moaning lustily. Even though I can’t give him a deep-throat blow because of his size, he still loved the way I play my tongue to his hot cock. When he began to climax, he held my head with his one hand and pumped me hard to his. I knew he was so horny at that moment because he was lifting his butt already from the sofa while pushing my head back and forth to his dick. I actually tasted his sweet and salty “pre-cum” at that point and I knew, not too long, he will blow his semen to my mouth. When both of us were so hot and the motion was doubled, somebody knocked on the door. We were so shocked. So, we stopped what we’re and fixed ourselves quickly. We knew that was the attendant knocking the door, reminding our reserved time has ended. Not later than five minutes, we left the room, paid the bill and went home individually as if nothing happened.

It was really a funny experience but as a person who seldom do sexual hookups, I find it nice. We are actually still texting right now. Because our first sex was not through, we have decided to meet on the 28th of February 2014 at his place to continue. He said he will make sure to give me a full blast by that time and I am looking forward to that.

This casual hookup is based on true experience of Alvin, 23 years old and an HRM student.

ANTI-GAY BILL IN UGANDA

Anti-Gay Law in Uganda is one of the contentious issues today making the LGBT community reacted differently. Many believe that this newly signed law exercises gender discrimination obviously. Below is the news today (dated on February 24, 2014) about anti-gay bill in Uganda from http://www.aljazeera.com/.

Uganda's president signed a controversial anti-gay bill that allows harsh penalties for "homosexual offences".

"The president has just signed the anti-homosexuality bill," said presidential spokeswoman Sarah Kagingo, calling it a "landmark" law, the Reuters news agency reported.

Earlier in the day, Ugandan Government spokesman Ofwono Opondo said, the president "wants to sign it with the full witness of the international media to demonstrate Uganda's independence in the face of Western pressure and provocation."

The bill is popular in Uganda, but rights groups have condemned it as draconian in a country where homosexuality is already illegal.

Museveni's decision to sign the bill comes less than a week since he announced plans to put the bill on hold to give scientists a chance to prove that homosexuality could be triggered by genes and is not a "lifestyle choice".

"Aggravated homosexuality"

The  law punishes first-time offenders with 14 years in jail. It also sets life imprisonment as the penalty for acts of "aggravated homosexuality".

The  bill originally proposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts, but that was later removed amid international criticism.

US  President Barack Obama has urged Museveni not to sign the bill, saying doing so would "complicate" the east African country's relationship with Washington.

Uganda  is a key Western ally in the fight against Islamic extremism in Somalia where Ugandan troops have formed the backbone of the African Union peacekeeping force battling al Qaeda-aligned fighters.

LIFE EXPECTANCY OF HIV VICTIMS REACHES ALMOST AVERAGE LEVEL

According to Huffington Post, an online news aggregator and blog, the existence expectancy of HIV victims raises seemingly the same to normal. Base on the conducted investigation from the 23,000 sample victims, ages from 20 and above in US and Canada between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2007, the life expectancies of HIV positives have dramatically reached the average levels.

There were 1,622 deaths in the North American AIDS Cohort Collaboration, which contributed 82,022 person years to the study, for a crude mortality rate of 19.8 per 1,000 person years. During 2000 to 2002, the life expectancy for a 20-year-old was an additional 36 years. By 2006 to 2007, this figure had leapt to 51 years, so that a 20-year-old could, on average, expect to live into his or her early 70s—almost as long as the general population.

There were key differences in life expectancies between the different subpopulations. There were no significant gender differences in life expectancy except in the 2006 to 2007 period, when the women reached 47 additional years of life expectancy past age 20 and the men 53. Men who have sex with men (MSM) had an expected 69 years of life past 20 by the end of the study period, compared with 29 years for injection drug users—whose life expectancy was essentially flatlined at around 30 years past 20. Non-whites, while still trailing whites, made significant headway in closing the gap. Whites began the study with 53 years and ended it with 57 years of life expectancy past 20, while non-whites started with 30 years and ended with 48. Those with a CD4 count of at least 350, measured when they began, or within six months of beginning, antiretrovirals, had 69 years of life expectancy past 20 in the final period of the study, compared with 47 years for those with CD4 levels below this threshold.

On the other note, the findings do not necessarily mean that it is okay to acquire HIV disease. It is still important to be vigilant and be conscious enough to what we are doing.  Always practice safe sex as much as possible for  HIV kills.
